Chris Budleigh - Director

Chris is a chartered accountant and trained with Deloittes in London. From 1986-88, he worked with Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) as Financial Controller of a grain-marketing organisation in Zambia, responsible for feeding two million people. This was followed by a management position at Price Waterhouse in London and financial roles with Allied Domecq and UniChem. In 1995 Chris joined LOT Oriel, a leading supplier of nanotechnology and photonics instrumentation, becoming Managing Director of the UK subsidiary in 1998.

As part of an MBA, completed in 2002, Chris undertook a research project on technology transfer, focusing on university spinout companies in the telecoms sector. This led to an interest in technology commercialisation and the founding of Psi-ense in 2004.

Dr David Robinson - Associate

David is a physicist with a long career at the National Physical Laboratory, culminating as Head of a Scientific Business Centre responsible for the DTI’s thermal and length metrology programmes, with 100 technical staff and an annual turnover of £8m. He was also actively involved in developing NPL’s involvement with the European space programme and the development of a commercialisation strategy for micro and nanotechnology.

In 2004 David set up Psi-Tran Limited (www.psi-tran.co.uk) , providing a range of consultancy services to government and industry in the UK and Europe, specialising in space and nanotechnology.
